Taxi 15-Year-Age Limit Legal Challenge, As many drivers are aware, early in 2010 we attempted to raise a fighting fund to challenge the decision to impose a 15 year age limit on London taxis. Unfortunately, we could only raise £4000 of which nearly half that was spent on seeking counsels opinion. We did have a good chance of winning but money was the problem. |

If you receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) while genuinely stopped to pick up or set down a passenger, read on; General parking exemptions apply to a vehicle being used under a licence under section 6 of the Metropolitan Public Carriage Act 1869 (1) for the sole purpose of stopping for a reasonable period of time to allow a passenger to board or alight. For reference, you should also read the case which was held in The High Court on 29th November, 2010. The Queen on the Application of Makda v The Parking Adjudicator. |
